I Shall Not Be Moved is the curated chronicling of the adolescence of Leah Angel Daniel amidst a complex relationship with her mother, a disengaged family composition, and her matriculation through the foster care system in Buffalo, New York.
In search of hope to overcome every obstacle against all odds, she was forced to look inward to discover her greatest source of strength and self-worth. Through an undeniable journey of trials, tribulations, and triumphs, Leah Angel dispels the myth that life happens to us. Much like the lotus flower and the rose that grows from concrete, Leah Angel reveals through a vast offering of stories, anecdotes, and affirmations the essence of grit, and tenacity that ultimately leads to self-actualization.
Today, as a business strategist, global speaker and advocate Leah Angel serves as a champion and voice for marginalized communities and youth with an emphasis on alumni from the foster care system. I Shall Not Be Moved is a must-read for the overcomer.
From Trauma to Triumph is a roadmap out of a system that often offers no roadmap to success but one that instead inspired me to find my own way. In addition to penning this book, I am currently completing my Doctoral Degree in Executive Leadership. My dissertation topic is African American women who experienced foster care and identify as transformational leaders.
My focus, like the one you'll find in the pages of this book, is on post-traumatic healing and growth. Additionally, as the Founder of Fostering Greatness (2019), I have helped hundreds of young adults and foster alumni of color to succeed despite the many challenges they face along the way. As an "Alumni" – not a "former foster child," I work toward ensuring young adults leaving the foster care system see a clear path ahead for themselves, a path that leads to success.
Read "I Shall Not Be Moved, My Extraordinary Journey From Trauma To Triumph" to learn how, along with a bit of help from my faith and critical mentors along the way, I drew my own roadmap to a successful future.
